Mike McCarthy
Principal Instructor
Sensei Michael McCarthy is the founder and principal instructor of Natsuoka Karate. A respected instructor and competent practitioner of Japanese Budo, he holds a 6th Degree Black Belt in Wado Kai Karate and has been teaching martial arts since 1995. In addition to training in Japan he has had the privilege of practicing several styles of karate, judo, kobudo, jiujutsu and other Japanese martial arts across Canada and internationally.
Sensei McCarthy has completed the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP Level I and II for Karate and Level I for Judo) and is is the current head instructor of the Toronto Metropolitan University Karate Club Program.
Marc Lefebvre
Lead Instructor
Sensei Marc Lefebvre has worked directly with Sensei McCarthy since the inception of Natsuoka Karate as an assistant instructor. Currently, Sensei Marc holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Wado Kai Karate and has been teaching the art since 2009.
Sensei Lefebvre has trained in several karate dojo in the Toronto area but started his martial arts career training in tae kwon do and has had the opportunity to practice other styles of karate as well as kobudo and Brazilian jiujutsu.
Mack Fergusson
Instructor
Sensei Mack Ferguson is an instructor of Natsuoka Karate. Mack holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Wado Kai Karate, and has trained in martial arts for over 30 years. In addition to training in karate, he has had the privilege of practicing several other martial arts including Judo, Kuk SoolWon, Fang Shen Do, and various styles of Kung Fu.
Mack firmly believes in supporting a positive dojo environment characterized by vigorous training, active inquiry and fun.
